Pre and postoperative distress in breast cancer patients can cause complications and delayed recovery from surgery. This study was conducted with main aims to evaluate the effects of yoga intervention on postoperative outcomes and wound healing in early operable breast cancer patients undergoing surgery. Ninety-Eight recently diagnosed stage II and III breast cancer patients were recruited in a randomized controlled trial comparing the effects of a yoga program with supportive therapy and exercise rehabilitation on postoperative outcomes and wound healing following surgery. Subjects were assessed at the baseline prior to surgery and four weeks later. Socio-demographic, clinical and investigative notes were ascertained at study entry. Blood samples were collected for estimation of plasma cytokines soluble IL2r, TNF alpha and IFN gamma. Postoperative outcomes such as duration of hospital stay drain retention, and suture removal, and postoperative complications were ascertained. We used independent samples t test and nonparametric Mann Whitney U tests to compare groups on postoperative outcomes and plasma cytokines. Regression analysis was done to determine predictors for postoperative outcomes. Sixty-Nine patients contributed data to the current analysis (yoga n=33, control n=36). The results suggest a significant decrease in duration of hospital stay (P=0.003), days of drain retention (P=0.001), days for suture removal (P=0.03), and post operative complications (P=0.05), in the yoga group as compared to controls. There was also a significant decrease in plasma TNF alpha levels following surgery in the yoga group (P<0.001), as compared to controls. Regression analysis on postoperative outcomes showed intervention to affect duration of drain retention, duration of hospital stay and TNF alpha levels. The results suggest possible benefits for yoga in reducing postoperative complications in breast cancer patients.

HOLISTIC HEALTH THROUGH
PAST-LIFE-REGRESSION-THERAPY: CASE STUDIES

HARIKUMAR V., M.S.
Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, OMC, Hyderabad, India

An 18 yr old female patient came with complaints of pain in left shoulder and arm since one year. She was resistant to treatment. Method used was Past Life Regression. In her past life she was a beautiful Russian aristocratic lady named as M. She used to dominate servants. She died in a car accident with injuries to left shoulder and arm. After realizing why she is having left shoulder pain in this life, she is relieved of the pain in 4 sessions. 2) A 45 yrs old male patient was referred to me from NIMS, Hyderabad for unexplained pain in chest, post-cardiac stent placement (Cardiac Neurosis). We treated him with Past Life Regression Therapy and Meditation. He was a tribal man in his past life and he died with a piercing injury to the chest. After reliving and re-experiencing that event, he recovered in no time. 3) A female patient came with hypothyroidism, alopecia and plantar fascitis. Breath work and Past-Life-Therapy healed her plantar fascitis. There was a dramatic decrease in hair fall. 4) A 10 yr. old came with Psoriasis. During Past-Life-Regression, he saw himself injured while a house was falling-down. He was injured with the bricks falling on him. He suffered with Severe Cough during the session. His skin condition has improved dramatically. He is no longer complaining of skin irritation. 5) A surgeon with severe cramps in legs since 5 yrs and cervical spondylitis since 2 yrs underwent 6 sessions over a period of one month. He is no longer suffering the pains. PLRT alone can solve many chronic health problems. PLRT alone can heal 60% of health issues. When combined with Breath Work and Meditation we have observed 90% cure.
